If I am injured while riding my bicycle in Florida, can I recover benefits on my auto insurance policy?
Yes, if you’re injured while riding your bicycle, your automobile policy will cover you for personal injury protection benefits, or PIP, up to $10,000 which pays for your medical bills. If you’re hit by somebody who either doesn’t have bodily injury coverage or insufficient bodily injury coverage to compensate you for your damages, if you have uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage on your policy, that would be used.
