Is a written lease agreement required for a residential tenancy?
A written lease agreement Is not required for a residential tenancy of one year or less. In the absence of a written agreement, your tenancy is determined by the period in which you paid rent. Most of the time, we pay in rent on a monthly basis, so you will have what’s called a month-to-month tenancy.
