My child was injured or killed while riding his/her bicycle in Florida. What are our rights?

If your child’s injured or killed while riding a bicycle in Florida, your rights are under your policy you have personal injury protection. If your child was injured, then you have up to ten thousand dollars in medical benefits available through your PIP coverage. If your child is, unfortunately, killed, there’s a five thousand dollar death benefit that’s available to you through the PIP coverage.

If the driver that injured your child or killed your child has bodily injury coverage, that will be available to collect from the third party. If they have either no insurance or insufficient insurance to cover the damages, and you have uninsured, under insured motorist coverage in your policy, that coverage will be available to you.
