What if I did not leave the scene of my Florida car accident in an ambulance?
Can I got to the hospital on my own the next day?
Yes, if you are injured in an accident, even if you don’t go to the hospital from the scene of the accident, you can treat after that. It’s not uncommon for people to be involved in an accident and not really feel that they’ve been injured until the following day. That’s understandable because an accident isn’t something that you’re in every single day and your adrenaline is pumping and you sometimes don’t feel the injuries until the next day or two. However, it’s important to remember that Florida is a no fault state and the first $10,000 of your medical bills is paid by your personal injury protection under your automobile policy. Under the PIP Statute, you have 14 days to treat from the date of the accident. If you don’t seek treatment within those 14 days, you will not be entitled to the PIP benefits under your policy.
